Objective: Using the show Gouna » (Waiting Room) as a working medium, this creative residency aims to question immersive approaches in theater. The result will be presented to the public in the form of a virtual reality installation.
Inner the stage » is an invitation to a multi-dimensional experience. It awakens and enriches the imaginations of the theater’s artistic and technical teams taking part in the residency, offering them time to experiment with live performance hybridization techniques, opening up new horizons for their creations. For the audience, it’s a singular immersion, an intimate journey to the heart of the stage, where proximity to the actors transforms the spectator into a privileged witness. It’s a playful way of extending the theatrical space, making it accessible to those who don’t usually go through its doors.
The show « Gouna » (Waiting Room) deals with the state of rupture in our society, the question of departure and the reasons that drive individuals to leave their territories for a hopeful elsewhere.
Why does a person decide to leave or isolate themselves from their community? What are the events and motives that lead people to conclude that they have no other alternative?
By capturing in 360° moments of play from the Gouna show in different spaces, and using 3D scanning and modeling of the sets as well as sound spatialization, this artistic collaboration offers an immersion that invites us to plunge body and gaze into the heart of the set.
As a follow-up to this collaborative work, the artistic teams will be welcomed to the E-FEST Agora to lead a moment of exchange and dialogue with the public on the theme of emigration, creating a bridge between art and contemporary issues.
Public presentation: April 11 – 12 – 13, 2025
