YALLA MIKU
Gawna & Krautrock - Ch/Eritrea

Yalla Miku, the new band from Bongo Joe, takes us on a journey with the mystical and spellbinding voice of Anouar Ait Baouna. Composed of Cyril Cyril and Hyperculte, along with Anouar, Samuel, and Ali—who are either descendants of immigrants or have come from distant lands—the group manages to create a surprising sense of cohesion. It’s hard to believe the band is so new, given how fluid the interaction between the musicians is. The group ingeniously alternates between traditional Gnawa music, spellbinding vocals and harmonies, and touches of rock-inspired bass and electric guitar. The blend of genres hits the mark and creates a frenzied symbiosis between vocals and percussion. A true invitation to journey, Yalla Miku takes us into a world we’re already eager to explore further.
